Antiquarks & Souleymane Faye
Antiquarks feat. Souleymane Faye: a human, artistic, rhythmic meeting … Together, they compose songs about courage to give hope to the youth concerned for the future of the planet. A cosmopolitan collaboration that explores a range of mixed music combining those both experimental and popular. Souleymane Faye and Antiquarks are driven by a strong desire to meet, understand and question African and Afro-descendant youth about the chances and hopes of their future.
Souleymane Faye s’impose à sa manière féline sur des textes rythmés, à la fois généreux et engagés (voir Jarul Xuloo). Antiquarks souligne ces textes avec les instruments traditionnels occidentaux (vielle augmentée électro, batterie).
A musical meeting
Souleymane Faye has established himself in his feline way on rhythmic texts, both generous and committed (see Jarul Xuloo). Antiquarks highlights these texts with traditional instruments of the West (old augmented electro, drums). The meeting between the French duo Richard Monségu-Sébastien Tron (Antiquarks) and the Senegalese musician-singer Souleymane Faye (Xalam II) marks the birth of a universal cabaret that confirms the need for humanity and openness to experiences with the rest of the world.
